John Barsella is a Partner in Blackman Kallick’s Tax Practice and a member of the firm’s six-person management committee. He works with family office clients and high net worth individuals, helping them to achieve their financial goals and address income and estate tax planning issues. He also provides tax planning, business valuation and financial planning services to hotels and restaurants, real estate holding companies, service firms and distribution companies. Additionally, John leads the firm's Real Estate Cost Segregation group.
John meets regularly with attorneys, bankers and investment advisers to keep up with the changes in the Chicago business community. He is a member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society, frequently serves as a speaker on tax issues, and is on the adjunct board of the John Marshall Law School Tax Advisory Board.
John received his BA from Eastern Illinois University and MS in Taxation from DePaul University. An unabashed champion of Chicago, John has lived and worked in the city his entire life. When not in the office he enjoys playing sports and spending time with his daughter.
