Jill Elden Rorem

JD

Partner, Staffing Services

A Partner in Blackman Kallick Staffing Services, Jill leads the ProjecTemps LLC legal staffing department as well as direct-hire placement of legal, administrative, and financial professionals.

She facilitates ideal matches between her clients and the talent they need to achieve their objectives by:

  • Overseeing legal project staffing for law firms and corporations, and direct-hire placement of attorneys, paralegals, accounting, and administrative professionals
  • Managing and motivating teams of temporary legal professionals for document review, claims review, and other organizational projects
  • Maintaining ongoing relationships with an extensive database of vetted professionals
  • Consulting with clients to explore various hiring alternatives that best fit their strategic growth plans

Under Jill’s leadership, the ProjecTemps group has grown in size and visibility, becoming known regionally and nationally as a premiere staffing firm backed by the resources of an established CPA and consulting firm. Jill also led the build-out of Blackman’s dedicated office space comprising more than 50 document review stations.

A former litigator with labor and employment firms, Jill leverages her combination of legal and staffing experience to match her clients with the talent they need to find the “smoking gun.” Jill understands the urgency of the discovery process and the importance of matching legal expertise to the type of case. Jill’s ability to work with a variety of personalities under intense pressure, due in part to a two-year stint booking talent and recruiting staff for a major TV industry talent agency, means that she is able to put the right team in place to achieve a successful resolution to the project — on time and on budget.

Recognizing that project temp turnover can jeopardize the success of a legal case, Jill gauges candidates’ personalities to build a cohesive team that will work well together. She is a hands-on manager who frequently visits project sites to ensure productivity and maintain open lines of communication (and often, to bring tasty treats). This personal attention, combined with BK Staffing’s competitive compensation, builds loyalty among the legal professionals with whom Jill has cultivated relationships.

Credentials and Professional Involvement

Jill regularly presents to associations, law firms, and corporations on “Demystifying the Contract Attorney Process” and is a regular contributor to legal blogs, including Attorneys in Transition and Just Below the Law. She is a member of Blackman’s Long-Term Planning Committee and the Steering Committee for the firm’s Women’s Initiative: Strategies for Excellence (WISE). Jill is an Ambassador to the Board of the American Cancer Society.

With a BA in Psychology from the University of Iowa and a JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Jill is an active member of the Illinois Paralegal Association and International Paralegal Managers Association.
