Jerry Hufton is a Partner in Blackman Kallick’s Insurance Industry Practice.  Jerry has 18 years of experience in audit, consulting, and enterprise risk management focusing on insurance and financial services.  He has extensive experience with SEC registrants and private organizations and has managed strong relationships with company boards and all levels of executive management.

For the past decade, Jerry has been providing technical insights and guidance to a number of the most prominent insurance organizations in Chicago and across the U.S.    His multi-functional background includes meeting clients’ strategic, financial and operational goals.   

Jerry has significant expertise managing client relationships for both property/casualty and life insurance operations. He has addressed complex financial issues faced by the insurance industry related to loss reserving, reinsurance, insurance taxation, investment management, brokerage and underwriting.   Jerry brings technical talent to his clients as well as a strong commitment to service delivery.

In addition to audit services, Jerry has provided management consulting, SAS 70 services, internal audit co-sourcing, regulatory oversight and internal control implementation and compliance services to a large number of global, regional and privately held companies.   

Prior to joining Blackman Kallick, Jerry was an Insurance Partner with an international accounting firm and spent over 12 years in various leadership roles within the Insurance Industry Practice at Deloitte & Touche in Chicago.  Jerry is a regular speaker at insurance industry events and is a member of the AICPA, the Illinois CPA Society, IAIR and the Institute of Internal Auditors. 

Jerry, along with his wife and four children, lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago.  He spends most of his time outside of work with his family at soccer games, school events and assisting with homework.  He has been a regular volunteer with United Way of Metropolitan Chicago and The Cathedral Shelter of Chicago.   Jerry earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting, at Washington University in Saint Louis.
