Doug Youngren is a tax partner with Blackman Kallick. Prior to joining Blackman Kallick, Doug practiced in a law firm that specialized in estate planning. His specialties at Blackman Kallick include overseeing all aspects of our insurance tax area.
Since Doug started his accounting career as an auditor, he has unique hands on-style that incorporates his knowledge and experience as a CPA as well as an attorney. A large part of his time is spent planning for insurance companies and other large businesses as well as planning for individual clients. Doug’s legal background is of great assistance when he is called upon to render complex tax opinions including ones on topics such as: offshore captive insurance companies, what constitutes sufficient risk to be called insurance, tax-free mergers, acquisitions, etc.
