McNally Article, "You Paid for Advice. Take It!", Published in Construction Today

You hired a consultant to help you understand the value of your business and to explore your options for transitioning out of the business. However, he is telling you things you do not want to hear and you are wondering if you made a mistake in hiring him. The old adage, “the customer is always right,” has its place, but it is not in professional services. You would not want your doctor to tell you everything is okay for fear of offending you if your cholesterol is off the charts. An advisor who will not give you his honest opinion is not giving you full value for your money and is not treating you fairly.

In this article, Patrick McNally, Partner in Charge of Blackman Kallick's Corporate Finance Group, discusses how to work with a professional advisor to your best advantage.
