Spitulnik Blog Post, "Are Family Business Leaders Born or Made?" Highlighted in Family Business Wiki Newsletter

David Spitulnik, former Director of Strategic Services, asks, "Is the Family Business Leader Born or Made?" in the January edition of the Family Business Wiki newsletter. Also recently posted on the Blackman Kallick Strategy Insights blog, the article challenges family businesses to not simply "follow the rattle" when planning for next-generation management, but to also consider individual motivation and necessary investment, both financially and otherwise, to "make" the next family business leader.

"In family business situations, often the leaders are literally born into that role, or at least that’s the position the parents may take. The first baby rattle may very well be the key to the executive suite."
