Tom Levato is a Director in Blackman's Forensic & Litigation Services Group. Tom has extensive forensic accounting experience in a variety of industries. He has 14 years of experience as an accountant, auditor and litigation consultant in the private sector and with local and national accounting firms. He has experience in the manufacturing, distribution, service, insurance, retail, telecommunications and construction industries.

Representative Experience

• Lead consultant and testifying expert in a divorce matter involving the identification and verification of marital assets in excess of $350 million
• Consulted in accounting malpractice cases involving transportation companies, radio stations, manufacturing, financial services companies, law practices and construction companies
• Performed forensic investigations involving defalcations in law firms, insurance companies, title companies and auto dealers
• Consulted on and prepared damage analysis models for intellectual property infringement cases involving the health care and food industries
• Assisted in the successful defense of an attorney and insurance company in an action brought by the State of Louisiana
• Performed valuations of closely held enterprises for purposes of sale and estate tax planning
• Performed valuations of minority interests in closely held enterprises
• Supervised audits and special projects
• Developed a communication system for upper management to disseminate critical information to the field technicians of a large regional telecommunication company
