An Audit Manager in Blackman Kallick’s Not-for-Profit Practice, Rena serves as financial statement auditor for organizations such as private schools, trade and professional associations, and social services agencies.
Rena’s roles and responsibilities include:
- Coordinating all aspects of the financial statement audit, including supervising fieldwork of audit staff
- Evaluating internal control systems and operational processes
- Benchmarking clients’ performance metrics against those of similar not-for-profit organizations
Rena’s deep level of involvement in every aspect of the audit provides her with a thorough understanding of the client’s financial system and hurdles they face. Her clients rely on her expertise on issues including best practices, integrating practice management and accounting software, investment strategies , and whistleblower policies.
During the course of the audit, Rena is constantly on the lookout for ways to help clients improve processes and internal controls. By benchmarking common not-for-profit metrics, Rena also helps her clients identify opportunities to improve their operations.

Rena earned a BS from the University of Illinois and is a member of the AICPA and Illinois CPA Society.
