Bryan is an Audit Senior who specializes in financial statement audits for manufacturing and construction clients, as well as audits of defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans.

Bryan’s skills and responsibilities include:

  • Preparing financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with US generally accepted accounting standards 
  • Auditing employee benefit plans to validate compliance with Department of Labor regulations and retirement plan documents
  • Improving the efficiency of audit engagements through an exceptional working knowledge of data extraction audit software
  • Studying emerging trends in the construction and manufacturing industries through participation in Blackman Kallick’s industry-focused committees
  • Planning and running all aspects of the audit engagement
  • Interviewing and screening potential new audit team members
  • Developing training courses for staff-level accountants and mentoring entry-level staff

Bryan’s clients know him as a personable advisor with a deep knowledge of their accounting transaction details. As part of each audit, Bryan offers insightful analysis to senior management regarding opportunities to improve internal controls, as well as overall profitability and operational efficiency. 

A born educator, Bryan believes that an intrinsic part of his role is to ensure that clients have a working knowledge of financial reporting and emerging accounting standards, to help them better discern the business intelligence that the financial statements might provide.

Credentials and Professional Involvement

Bryan earned a BS in Accounting with a Certificate of Advanced Accountancy from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. This advanced training provided Bryan with a diverse view of various aspects of accounting in a wide variety of industries. A member of the Illinois CPA Society, Bryan regularly attends the society’s annual construction convention to enhance his knowledge of construction-related accounting updates and economic developments.
