Brad Walters

CPA

Audit Manager

As an Audit Manager, Brad performs financial statement and employee benefit plan audits in a wide variety of industries. He concentrates his time with clients in the financial services, manufacturing, and distribution industries.

Brad serves his clients efficiently and reliably through the following services:

  • Preparing financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with US generally accepted accounting standards (US GAAP)
  • Performing audits in connection with business combinations
  • Interpreting and clarifying purchase agreements and covenants for mergers and acquisitions
  • Performing and supervising fieldwork for financial statement and employee benefit plan audits

By closely following developments such as fair value disclosures and convergence with international accounting standards, Brad ensures his clients remain in compliance with their lending and shareholders’ agreements. This is especially important in the fast paced and highly regulated private equity and investment fund sectors, where protection of investors requires reliable financial statements that are in compliance with SEC and other regulations.

Brad strives to provide the most efficient audit possible through the use of the latest technology and frequent communication with his clients. He also offers insights to improve clients’ operations based on information gathered during the audit process.

For example, in the course of reviewing cost and inventory levels for manufacturing and distribution companies, he has helped detail actual overhead costs and compute labor costs, and identify winners and losers within product lines.

Having spent three years as a tax accountant before joining Blackman Kallick, Brad combines the best of both disciplines: a thorough knowledge of his clients’ financial operations drawn from his audit fieldwork and a keen eye for opportunities to minimize tax liability and maximize business opportunities.
