Colophon

“Colophon” comes from the Greek word “κολοφων” or "kolophon," which means "summit" or "finishing touch." It is a description of the details and methods behind a publication and is often found on the last few pages of books.

Design and Development

Neoteric Design designed and developed this site in conjunction with LargerPond Marketing. Neoteric redesigns Web sites with a focus on customer needs, site goals, ease of use and engaging design. LargerPond is a full service advertising and marketing firm specializing in company and product positioning and market development efforts.

Typography

The primary navigation for the site is set in Trade Gothic Bold. Page titles and subtitles are set in Helvetica Neue Bold. Helvetica is used for body text with the exception of the News and Events promo which is set in Verdana.

Technical

We used Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and TextMate to create this site, and content is maintained using Movable Type 4. Flash animation employs dynamic use of XML. The site is authored using structural XHTML and complies with the 1.0 transitional web standards as set by the W3C.
