Benefits

At Blackman Kallick, our benefit package is designed to help support your needs at every stage of life.

Our comprehensive benefit package includes:

Compensation Benefits

At Blackman Kallick, your compensation goes beyond a competitive salary. We also offer a generous incentive-bonus program, practice-sharing awards for introducing new business, and referral awards for successful hires you introduce.

Health and Wellness

Medical and dental insurance that includes vision care is available to eligible employees and their eligible dependents. Medical coverage is also available to eligible domestic partners. The employee’s share of premiums is paid by the employee on a pre-tax basis through payroll where allowed by law.

Section 125 Plan (Flexible Spending Account)

Our Section 125 flexible spending plan offers pre-tax savings for both medical and dependent care.

 Transit Benefits

CTA fare cards and Metra transit vouchers are available for purchase through pre-tax payroll deduction, saving employees both time and money on a monthly basis.

Time-off benefits

Blackman offers generous time-off benefits, including vacation, sick, personal, and floating-holiday time, plus at least seven paid holidays each year.

401(k) Plan

All employees may participate in the firm’s 401(k) plan, subject to plan eligibility requirements. The plan includes both Roth and traditional 401(k) deferral options as well as an employer-match provision. There are many self-directed investment options, and retirement-planning assistance is available through an outside advisor at no cost.

Life and Disability Insurance

All eligible employees are automatically covered by firm-paid life insurance, and have the option to elect additional life insurance for themselves and qualified dependents. The firm also provides both short-term and long-term disability benefits at no cost to the employee.

Employee Assistance Program

All Blackman employees and their immediate families may take advantage of the firm’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This free and confidential benefit offers short-term counseling services, work/life resources (e.g., child-care referrals, convenience services), and both legal and financial planning assistance.

Parental Benefits

Blackman provides additional paid time off for new parents and is flexible about taking parental leave. Additionally, the firm’s Alternative Work Arrangements program can help ease the transition back to the workplace and assist with ongoing work/life balance.

CPA Success Program

Blackman covers the costs of one full Becker CPA Review course, and also offers reimbursement of exam fees upon successful passing of the exam. Additionally, there is an allowance for study time during the work day, and paid time off is provided to sit for the exam.

Professional Dues and Licensing

Blackman pays or reimburses all CPA dues and licensing expenses as well as other approved certifications and licenses.

Tuition Reimbursement/Educational Assistance

For eligible employees, Blackman pays for approved continuing professional education and has a generous tuition reimbursement program for relevant advanced degrees.
